FULL-TIME AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC Position Title: Automotive Mechanic Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Mossman Reports To: Workshop Manager / Business Owner About the Business We are a well-established, locally owned mechanical workshop with a strong reputation for reliable service, quality workmanship, and long-term customer relationships. Serving the community for 40 years, we pride ourselves on honesty and efficiency. Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities - Perform general mechanical repairs and servicing on a variety of vehicles - Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately and efficiently - Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake servicing, and inspections - Carry out engine, transmission, and suspension repairs - Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively - Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations - Maintain accurate job records and complete service reports - Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding job progress - Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop Skills & Experience - Relevant trade qualification in Automotive - Mechanics (e.g. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent) - Proven experience working as a mechanic in a workshop environment - Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship - Current driver’s licence (essential) - Roadworthy certification licence (desirable, not essential) Personal Attributes - Reliable and punctual - Strong work ethic - Good communication skills - Commitment to ongoing learning and development What We Offer - Stable, full-time position in a reputable local business - Supportive and friendly team environment - Above award wages based on experience - Ongoing training and development opportunities - Well-equipped workshop with modern tools and equipment How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience to: [email protected] Alternatively, apply in person. | |

Join us for a morning of community, connection and rainforest restoration. Rainforest Rescue's 2026 Annual Community Tree Planting Day is scheduled for Saturday 16th May 2026 and you're invited! The event will commence at 9:00 am, and we aim to finish planting before noon. We ask you arrive by 8:45 am to allow time for check-in. After a morning of restoring rainforest and supporting connectivity across this important landscape, you are invited to remain on site, enjoy a light vegetarian lunch and celebrate with us.
