FULL-TIME AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

Position Title: Automotive Mechanic
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Mossman
Reports To: Workshop Manager / Business Owner

Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical repairs and servicing on a variety of vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately and efficiently
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake servicing, and inspections
- Carry out engine, transmission, and suspension repairs
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate job records and complete service reports
- Communicate clearly with team members and management regarding job progress
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop


Skills & Experience
- Relevant trade qualification in Automotive
- Mechanics (e.g. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in a workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Current driver’s licence (essential)
- Roadworthy certification licence (desirable, not essential)

9am 2pm Rainforest Rescue Annual Community Tree Planting Day Join us for a morning of community, connection and rainforest restoration.

Rainforest Rescue's 2026 Annual Community Tree Planting Day is scheduled for Saturday 16th May 2026 and you're invited!

The event will commence at 9:00 am, and we aim to finish planting before noon. We ask you arrive by 8:45 am to allow time for check-in.

After a morning of restoring rainforest and supporting connectivity across this important landscape, you are invited to remain on site, enjoy a light vegetarian lunch and celebrate with us.

Last year, we completed a decade of restoration at NightWings. This year, we begin a new restoration chapter at a brand-new site… 110 Cape Tribulation Road.

We’re looking forward to putting trees back on the land with you. See you in the Daintree!
